Aesthetic

I was born and brought up in Japan. Even in this age of the Western culture having been introduced,
we Japanese succeed to traditional aesthetic senses, philosophy and ideas such as 'MONO NO AWARE
(= pathos)', 'YUGEN (= quiet beauty)', 'YOJO (= overtones)', 'MUJO (= uncertainty)' and others.
'Yugen = Quiet beauty' means an atmosphere of mystery, gloom, elegance, ambiguity, silence, sorrow
and the like. It also means the ultimate truth human intelligence can not grasp. 'Mujo = Uncertainty'
is a thought from Buddhism of "Nothing is certain in this world.", which means life is mortal and things
fall to decay. We have been felt beauty for uncertain things or sad things. I wish to express such
traditional Japanese aesthetic senses through photographs.
